La Crescenta continues to be a place removed from the rest of urban Los Angeles.  Nestled against the majestic San Gabriel Mountains, the streets of the La Crescenta stair-step up the hill.  The air is crisp and the wind blows through the mountain passes.  Residents regularly see hawks, deer, raccoons, opossums, and other wildlife in their streets and yards.  Oak trees and single-family homes make this an attractive neighborhood in which to raise a family.  Nearby Foothill Boulevard offers a bustling commercial venue for locals. La Crescenta is partially under the jurisdiction of LA county and partly in a section of Glendale known as the Annex. That is because back in the 1950′s Glendale Annexed a section of La Crescenta. This area is roughly between Pennsylvania Ave. and Lowell Ave. All of La Crescenta is in the school district area of Glendale U.S.D. known as the Crescenta Valley Schools. These schools are widely regarded as among the best in the area and are a huge draw for young families looking for a great place to raise their children.  The parks are also a great attraction.
