Judge Erskine Mayo Ross successfully farmed this area and built a house at the mouth of Verdugo Canyon, which he named “Rossmoyne.” This area was later subdivided into the planned neighborhood that is marked today by curving tree-shaded streets, period lampposts, classic custom-built homes, and close proximity to downtown Glendale.  Mountain Avenue gracefully winds its way through the center of Rossmoyne, while quiet side streets adjoin it.  Rossmoyne is an elegant neighborhood of single-family homes, whose residents consist of many longtime Glendale homeowners and a growing cadre of those employed in the entertainment field.  Glendale College and the commercial services of the Central-Stocker Business District are also within walking distance.

Glendale’s Rossmoyne area includes all the homes in the 91207 area and is one of Glendale’s most desired neighborhoods.  This area extends from Brand Boulevard through Verdugo Park and virtually every home North of Glenoaks Boulevard. The architecture of the homes varies depending on the area of Rossmoyne that you are in. One of the attractions of the area is Nibley Park. It is neighborhood park that people in the area enjoy and use regularly. There is even a Facebook Page called Fans of Nibley Park. The neighbors of Rossmoyne are active in their multiple homeowners associations. Royal Canyon Neighborhood Association and Rossmoyne  Neighborhood Association are two such organizations.  The Royal Canyon Neighborhood is an Historic District with fine examples of Architectural styles from the early 1920’s through the 1950’s. Homes in Rossmoyne have traditionally held their value more than some of the others in Glendale.  To search for your Rossmoyne home you can click the link at the top of this page.
